Fram Marine reinforces the team

Fram Marine is experiencing increasing demand and volume and has therefore strengthened the team with several skilled employees over the past year. One of them is Øystein Falleth – Project Manager within Environmental Technology.

Kjetil Bruun-Olsen

Øystein has 27 years of experience in the maritime industry.  He started his career at sea, where he quickly became the first officer, then "went ashore" to operate at the shipping office. There he was assigned the responsibility for implementing the shipping company's IT and communications systems based on his background and experience of programming and service experience on electronic ship equipment.

The shipowner needed to implement IT solutions and PMS (Planned Maintenance Systems) systems on board the ships, and with effective solutions that could be communicated with the Shipping Office on land. This resulted in a major change in the sailings working situation, and it was important with a project-leading maritime resource to achieve a successful implementation and execution. This is an excellent case example of how important the combination of technical and digital competence is in order to achieve efficiency and value creation providing a substantial value in the project.

Furthermore, Øystein developed his maritime competence in operations through the role of Maritime and technical inspector, Company Security Officer.

It is both rewarding and interesting to work with environmental technology on ships. Knowing that one is part of and contributing to the world's achieving climate goals, gives an extra meaning to the job.

In recent years Øystein has, as Project Manager, been responsible for developing exhaust gas (scrubbers) cleaning systems for one of the largest suppliers of scrubber systems. He’s also been responsible for the first delivery of scrubbers to new buildings, at DSME in Korea, as well as first commercial retrofit delivery, to APL performed at Yiu Lian Dockyards, Shenzhen, China.

"It is both rewarding and interesting to work with environmental technology on ships. Knowing that one is part of and contributing to the world's achieving climate goals, gives an extra meaning to the job, "emphasizes Øystein. "It is also important for me to choose an employer like Fram Marine, who has the environment and sustainability as one of its main pillars."

We are proud to strengthen the team with Øystein’ s unique expertise for Fram Marine to support its customers in the best way in "the green shift in energy and maritime industry." Expresses CEO Kjetil Bruun-Olsen.
